Celebrating Academic Excellence: Prof. Gwarzo gifts Luxury Bus, Cash prizes to Intercontinental Schools’ top graduates

The President of MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has donated a brand-new 30-seater luxury bus to Intercontinental Schools, Kano, in a grand gesture celebrating academic excellence.

The donation was announced during the school’s Speech and Prize Giving Day held on Saturday, 19th July 2025. Speaking at the event, Prof. Gwarzo said the contribution was in recognition of the school’s outstanding academic performance, describing it as one of the best secondary schools in Kano.

Prof. Gwarzo encouraged the school’s founders to invest more in innovation and critical thinking skills to equip students for future challenges and meaningful contributions to society.

“Education is the future, and the future is education. When you give your children quality education, you are investing in their future,” he emphasized.

The education philanthropist also called on parents and guardians to prioritize basic education, stressing that it forms the foundation for success at the tertiary level. He further urged the school to introduce bilingual studies to help produce globally competitive students who can thrive anywhere in the world.

In addition to the bus donation, Prof. Gwarzo awarded cash prizes to top-performing students:

N1 million each for the best graduating students in nursery, primary, and secondary categories

N500,000 each for students who placed second and third

In their remarks, the college founders, Engr. Yusuf Baba and Hajia Hadiza Nuhu Yusuf Baba, expressed deep appreciation for the donation, noting its significant impact on teaching and learning within the school.

In recognition of his dedication to education, the school honored Prof. Gwarzo with an award for his unwavering commitment to promoting learning both in Nigeria and internationally.
