The former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has commended the founder of Maryam Abacha American University, Kano Professor Adamu Gwarzo for securing additional lincences for the operation of two new Universities.
The National University Commission, NUC, has approved the Canadian University of Nigeria, Abuja and Franco-British University Kaduna early this year.
Prof. Gwarzo is the founder of both Universities.
The education enthusiast visited the former Vice President and Peoples Democracy Party’s presidencial candidate Atiku Abubakar in his office on Thursday to showcased the lincences of the two new approved Universities.
Atiku salute the entourage and praise Prof. Gwarzo for his commitment to uplifting education in Nigeria.
Atiku said ” Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, Founder of Maryam Abacha American University, honoured me with a visit. He showcased the licenses granted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the operation of two esteemed institutions: the Franco-British University in Kaduna and the Canadian University of Nigeria in Abuja. This is indeed a welcome development for our education sector. ”
Prof. Gwarzo has contributed immensely to the development of education in Nigeria and beyond.
Recently, the Northwest University Sokoto named it yet to be commissioned male hostel after Prof. Gwarzo.
Speaking to Academics Daily, Mohammed Mohammed, an education observer said, ” Prof. Gwarzo is a God sent personality to this part of the world. At his prime age, he has already established four private universities. Three in Nigeria, one in the republic of Niger. There could nothing better than this to list as a lifetime achievement.
