The event attracted government officials, academics and distinguished guests from across the country, turning the occasion into a celebration of ambition and opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>A member of the MAAUN Group of Universities, FBIU admitted the students into four academic schools: the School of Nursing Sciences, School of Health Sciences, School of Computing, and School of Social and Management Sciences.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the gathering, the President of FBIU, Prof. Abdullahi Sabo Muhammad, congratulated the students and described the occasion as a defining moment in their lives.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that matriculation is more than a ceremonial event, saying it represents the beginning of a transformative journey that will shape the students academically, professionally and personally.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a significant milestone not only for the students but also for our university,\u201d he said. \u201cToday marks the official commencement of your journey toward becoming future leaders, innovators and professionals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony also featured words of advice and encouragement from the Founder of the MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, who urged the students to remain focused on their academic goals and avoid activities that could derail their future.<\/p>\n<p>He reiterated the institution\u2019s zero-tolerance stance on drug abuse and other social vices, emphasizing that character and discipline are as important as academic excellence.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Gwarzo said the university remains committed to producing graduates capable of making meaningful contributions to Nigeria, Africa and the wider world.<\/p>\n<p>In a move aimed at expanding opportunities for students, he announced plans to establish an Internationalisation Unit that will facilitate access to scholarships, academic exchange programmes and global learning opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>The Chancellor of FBIU, Senator Shehu Sani, also challenged the students to uphold discipline, integrity and good conduct throughout their stay at the university.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, maintaining strong moral values will not only protect the reputation of the institution but also help students achieve academic success.<\/p>\n<p>Several dignitaries who delivered goodwill messages described the matriculating students as fortunate to have secured admission into one of the fastest-growing universities in sub-Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Among them were the President of MAAUN Nigeria, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr; the Registrar of MAAUN Niger and Nigeria, Dr. Shu\u2019aibu Usman Tanko; and a representative of the Canadian University of Nigeria, Prof. Ahmed Maigari Ibrahim. They encouraged the students to seize every opportunity available to them and make the most of their university experience.<\/p>\n<p>Also speaking at the event, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Health Council of Nigeria (EHCON), Dr. Baba Muhammad Yakubu, commended FBIU for offering programmes tailored to contemporary societal needs and aligned with international standards.<\/p>\n<p>The highlight of the ceremony came when the Vice President Administration of FBIU administered the matriculation oath, officially welcoming the students into the university community.<\/p>\n<p>As the applause echoed through the venue and proud families captured memorable moments, one thing was clear: for the 362 students, Wednesday was not just another university ceremony\u2014it was the beginning of a new chapter filled with dreams, possibilities and the promise of a brighter future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The atmosphere was filled with excitement, pride and anticipation on Wednesday as hundreds of students took a major step toward their future at Franco-British International University (FBIU), Kaduna.
