A delegation from the African Institute for Solutions and Development (AISD), Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, took part in a sensitisation workshop for Commissioners of Education and SUBEB Chairmen from seven North-West and six North-East states in Kano.<\/p>\n
The workshop is part of the nationwide rollout of the HOPE-EDU programme, supported by the World Bank and the Global Partnership for Education.<\/p>\n
The MAAUN-AISD delegation included the President of MAAUN, Prof Mohammad Israr; Executive Chairman of AISD, Dr. Audu Liman; Executive Director AISD, Dr Salisu Muhammad; Haj Nafisa Ado; and Hayatuddeen M. Abdallah.<\/p>\n
MAAUN-AISD said its participation reflects its commitment to supporting policies and solutions that improve access to quality education across Nigeria.<\/p>\n
The institute described the initiative as a major step toward inclusive and sustainable education development in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
The $552.18 million initiative by the federal government aims to transform basic education and improve learning outcomes nationwide.<\/p>\n
The program is implemented by the Federal Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission and SUBEBs.<\/p>\n
Speaking during the program, UBEC Executive Secretary, Aisha Garba, said the programme will benefit over 29 million children, train 500,000 teachers, and build 13,000 classrooms.<\/p>\n
She added that it will also help reintegrate millions of out-of-school children into the formal education system.<\/p>\n
