MAAUN, UNESCO-REF sign MoU on mutual cooperation

The Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) Kano has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with UNESCO Read and Earn Federation (UNESCO-REF) on mutual cooperation between the two organizations.

The Signing of the MoU which was conducted virtually, was also aimed at defining the areas of cooperation between the two parties in line with the vision and mission of UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals (SGD)

Speaking at the occasion, the President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr). Mohammad Israr said the two organizations had agreed to work together mutually to achieve internalisation by promoting vision and mission of the United Nations’ goals among the students of MAAUN.

He said the MAAUN and UNESCO had also agreed to create a professional and academic network aimed at sharing knowledge and experience towards promoting UNESCO and MAAUN values and goals.

In his remarks at the occasion, the President, UNESCO- REF, Prince Abdulsalami Ladigbolu said the MoU was aimed at realising the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

“I am pleased today not just because of the signing of the MoU but writing our names on the flatter of gold in the history of Nigeria. I joined hands to lay a solid foundation to build critical and productive youths for the future of the society,” he said.
He expressed optimism that the signing of the MoU, would enable MAAUN to produce a generation of entrepreneurs, innovators and good leaders that govern the country.

“It’s our hope that this synergy with MAAUN will enlighten their students and expose them to globally recognised labour markets.

The MoU signing activity was carried out by Engr. Bashir Garba, Head of International Office of MAAUN.

In his remarks, he said the signing of the MoU is inline with the vision and mission of MAAUN which is aimed at providing the MAAUN students with professional certifications in their various fields of studies.
