Professor Gwarzo is best known as the founder and president of Maryam Abacha American University (MAAUN), which operates in Maradi, Niger Republic, and Kano, Nigeria. MAAUN has rapidly gained prominence as one of the leading private universities in West Africa, offering globally aligned academic programs across a wide range of disciplines. With a student-centered approach and emphasis on practical knowledge, the university is producing graduates who are both job-ready and globally competitive.
In addition to MAAUN, Professor Gwarzo has established two more forward-looking institutions:
Franco-British International University, Kaduna, and
