Nigerian Air Force explores strategic academic partnership with Franco-British International University, Kaduna

In a bid to deepen military-academic partnerships and drive educational innovation, a high-powered delegation from the Nigerian Air Force School of Medical Sciences and Aviation Medicine (NAFSMSAM) paid a courtesy visit to Franco-British International University (FBIU) in Kaduna on Thursday.

The visit marks a strategic step toward forging collaborative initiatives in academic development, professional training, and institutional capacity building.

Led by Air Commodore R. Abdullahi, Commandant of NAFSMSAM, the delegation included top officials such as Deputy Commandant Air Commodore A.M. Ola, Group Captain A.J. Arumona (Registrar), Warrant Officer E.V. Elachi, and Flying Officers A.M. Bello and I.J. Abubakar.

Warmly received by Vice Chancellor Prof. Abdullahi Sabo Muhammad and senior staff, the visit opened discussions on future partnerships centered on shared goals in research, training, and knowledge exchange.

Prof. Sabo welcomed the initiative, describing it as a timely collaboration that aligns with FBIU’s vision for academic excellence and innovation. “Our doors are always open to progressive partnerships that benefit both our students and society,” he affirmed.

Air Commodore Abdullahi praised Prof. Sabo’s leadership, calling him a “visionary” whose stewardship is already transforming FBIU. He assured the university of NAFSMSAM’s commitment to supporting joint programs, capacity development, and resource sharing.

The university’s Registrar, Mr. Agwaza Bemdoo, echoed the excitement over the potential partnership, describing it as a “partnership for progress” with far-reaching societal impact.

The delegation toured key facilities including lecture halls, administrative buildings, and the university’s library, capping off a visit that set the stage for a new chapter in civil-military academic cooperation.

Also present from FBIU were Dr. Auwalu Lawal Danbuzu, Acting Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance; Mal. Abdullahi Ibrahim Mirnga, Acting Dean of Student Affairs; and Mal. Ibrahim Jibril Aliyu, Secretary to the Vice Chancellor.
