The Founder and President of the MAAUN Group of Universities, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has pledged to donate a Hilux vehicle to the Office of the Vice-Chancellor of Northwest University Kano (NWUK), in a move aimed at strengthening the institution’s administrative capacity.

Professor Gwarzo made the pledge while receiving the Vice-Chancellor of Northwest University Kano, Professor Amina Salihi Bayero, alongside members of the University’s Management and Governing Council during a courtesy visit to his office in Abuja on Wednesday.

Beyond the vehicle donation, the renowned educationist shared strategic insights on how the university can accelerate its development, enhance its academic reputation, and position itself among Nigeria’s leading higher institutions.

He commended Professor Bayero and her management team for their commitment to repositioning the university and urged them to remain focused on reforms that would improve teaching, research, innovation, and institutional excellence.

In what both parties described as a family reunion, the meeting also highlighted the longstanding relationship between Northwest University Kano and MAAUN. The bond is reinforced by Professor Bayero’s previous service at the MAAUN Kano Campus and Professor Gwarzo’s continued support for the university.

The visit comes as Northwest University Kano intensifies efforts to expand strategic partnerships with government agencies, research institutions, and private-sector stakeholders to improve infrastructure, promote innovation, and strengthen its academic competitiveness.

The Hilux donation is expected to support the day-to-day operations of the Vice-Chancellor’s office while underscoring the growing collaboration between the two institutions in advancing higher education in Nigeria.
